Green lane users are celebrating what they hope will be a decisive victory in the fight to save the rights of way around Stonehenge, after a public enquiry into plans for a blanket ban on motorised traffic in favour of keeping them open. The enquiry, held by planning inspector Alan Boyland, was called in response to the level of objections received by Wiltshire County Council after it announced proposals to close the rights of way as part of a massive redevelopment scheme led by Stonehenge's owner, English Heritage.
